How to reduce copper and iron losses in transformers

1, the selection of lower current density.

2, reduce the number of turns, but will increase the magnetic flux density of the core and increase iron losses, when the copper loss is significantly higher than the iron loss when used with caution.

3, change the transformer process to reduce the winding AC resistance. Methods are mainly to reduce the copper wire diameter (can not reduce the total cross-sectional area), increase the primary level of adjacent surfaces (will increase the primary level of distributed capacitance), reduce the primary level of distance (will increase the primary level of distributed capacitance), coil sparing, etc.; 4, change the circuit operating parameters to reduce the AC resistance of the winding.

4, change the circuit operating parameters to reduce the AC resistance, such as reducing the switching frequency, but will increase the magnetic flux density of the core and increase iron loss, when the copper loss is significantly higher than the iron loss when used with caution.

5, the use of lower resistivity wire.

Reduce iron loss

1, change the power consumption parameters of the core material is more excellent, such as the use of TDK's PC50 material instead of PC40 material.

2, reduce the magnetic flux density, but will increase the number of turns of the coil and lead to increased copper losses, use with caution.

3, change the circuit parameters, such as reducing the switching frequency, but will also increase the flux density, use caution, if necessary, with the winding turns adjustment.

4, rational thermal design, the use of core material temperature and loss curve in the valley.

Comprehensive method

1, according to the respective heat dissipation conditions, reasonable allocation of copper loss iron loss ratio.

2, reasonable design of the core flux density and operating frequency, so that the core works in the best FB combination state.
